, has taken a major step towards the development of its women’s wing by completing the acquisition of The Rock Stadium in North Wales. While Wrexham Women has operated at the said ground since 2023, the club has now added the establishment to its list of officially owned stadiums.
Having enjoyed the rights of the 3,000-seater arena for two years now, Wrexham A.F.C. has now purchased The Rock Stadium in its entirety. Talking about the successful procurement of the stadium, Michael Williamson, who serves as the CEO of Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham A.F.C., noted, “The acquisition of The Rock represents a significant milestone for the club, providing Wrexham A.F.C. Women with a permanent home and dedicated training facility. It illustrates our continued commitment to supporting and growing the women’s game in North Wales.” (via The Wrexham CEO then explained the benefits that the Ryan Reynolds-owned side will experience by owning The Rock by saying, “Having a venue in the Wrexham County Borough and close to the STōK Cae Ras gives us flexibility, allowing the Women’s first team to train and play matches locally, while still having access to a larger venue when needed.” “We’ll begin with essential maintenance ahead of the new season, followed by a longer-term vision to enhance the pitch, stadium, and surrounding infrastructure,” Williamson remarked while highlighting the club’s vision for the stadium. Cefn Druids, who have played at The Rock since 2010 and have shared it with Wrexham A.F.C. for the past two years, will continue to conduct training sessions as well as official games on the ground. Ever since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney secured the rights to Wrexham A.F.C., the 1864-founded club has experienced immense success in both its male and female divisions.
