Ryan Day says Legend Bey has missed “a couple of practices” this spring but hopes to have the freshman back soon. “He certainly flashed when he was in there,” Day said.
Ohio State head coach Ryan Day said Tuesday that Bey has missed time with an injury this spring, though he looks forward to seeing the freshman Swiss Army knife back on the practice field soon. “Legend has been out here for a couple of practices.
Hopefully we can get him back here soon. He certainly flashed when he was in there, but making the transition from being a quarterback to playing running back is two different things, especially at Ohio State.” The Buckeyes, who are already without Bo Jackson and Isaiah West this spring as they recover from shoulder surgery, are now down to redshirt senior Florida transfer Ja’Kobi Jackson, redshirt freshman Anthony “Turbo” Rogers, freshman four-star Favour Akih and walk-on Stanley Jackson Jr., Day said he wanted to see Ohio State’s running back room take the next step. As of Tuesday, he said that progress is still ongoing. “They’re working. Looking to get better,” Day said. “I don’t think that’s gonna get solved in a week of practice. We got work to do there. They got to keep getting better.”“Favour is learning ,” Day said. “Ja’Kobi has very good instincts and vision. Again, he’s learning the offense, but he’s shown the ability to really hit the hole the right way. He’s working on playing with more power behind his pads. Turbo has had a much better offseason than he had the year before. He’s getting better. But we still got a long way to go.”
