The football coach offered his first comments on the abrupt resignation of former athletic director Pat Hobbs.

Former Rutgers Athletic Director Pat Hobbs shakes hands with head coach Greg Schiano at halftime of the Rutgers Scarlet-White Spring Game in 2021.

“I’m not going to get into that right now,” Schiano said. “I want to coach this team. I want to get ready to go play this game that’s days away. You always want someone you can work with and that you’re vertically aligned. Our institution is vertically aligned, so let’s get someone that wants to join in and just make it better.”as the school’s interim athletic director.
