CORONAVIRUS | Transport minister says it will not be operating until movement control order ends on March 31.
| Transport Minister Wee Ka Siong has asked Malaysians not to swarm the Road Transport Department at a time when the movement control order is in effect."RTD offices across the country were full because too many have come to deal at the counters to renew driving licenses and vehicle road tax."For the sake of the people's health, the RTD has had to close the counters across the country until March 31," Wee said in a Facebook post late last night.
He advised the public to take advantage of online services to avoid a situation in which large crowds assemble at the RTD offices. "The people don't have to worry, because the online payment or myeg service have long been established for the convenience of the people. "Use this service ... there is less than 14 days left, it is for the sake of our joint safety and health," he said.
"I really hope we all can be patient and stay calm. I believe that if we are all united then we can face this pandemic together."
