PETALING JAYA: The Road Transport Department (JPJ) will close its counters from Friday (March 20) until a date to be announced later after large numbers of people were seen thronging its offices.

In a Facebook post on Thursday , JPJ said the situation was counter-effective to the government's implementation of the movement control order to stop the spread of Covid-19.On Wednesday , JPJ said its counters would be opened nationwide from 9am to 1pm.

On Monday , Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced the MCO would be imposed from Wednesday until the end of the month in a bid to contain the Covid-19 outbreak.
