A passenger on a Royal Caribbean cruise died after allegedly terrorizing other passengers and assaulting a crew member. The incident occurred during a voyage from San Pedro to Ensenada, Mexico.
A Royal Caribbean passenger caused a disturbance aboard a cruise ship departing from San Pedro for Ensenada, Mexico. Christifer Mikhail, who was on the cruise to celebrate his birthday, his wife's birthday, and their anniversary with family and friends, reported that an intoxicated man threatened the passengers and chased them down the hallway. Cell phone footage captured the man attempting to kick in a door during a fit of rage.
Mikhail stated that a crew member was attacked by the unruly passenger, who also used profanity and engaged in alleged racist remarks. Cruise security eventually apprehended the man using zip ties and handcuffs. Sadly, the man died shortly after being detained, and his family is now making funeral arrangements. He is survived by a child with autism and a fiancé. A relative expressed that the man did not deserve to die over the incident. Royal Caribbean confirmed the passenger's death and released a statement offering condolences to the family and cooperation with authorities investigating the incident
