Fares depend on what city you’re driving in, the time the trip takes and the distance of the trip. Promotions can include things like surge pricing…when demand increases, the more money you take home.
It is made up of the time and distance to the pickup and to complete the ride. Also, the number of riders and drivers on the road and how busy the area is. Drivers also get the chance to earn more money through “bonuses,” like picking up scheduled rides and driving during busy times like rush hour. Drivers keep 100% of a rider’s tip. Lyft says, drivers will always earn 70% or more of the rides every week. The 30% are fees that cover things like commercial insurance and taxes.
