The Rocky River City Schools Board of Education is now in the interview phase in the process to select the next superintendent to lead the district.
of focus groups for parents, community members and other stakeholder groups last fall, an online survey was also available for stakeholder feedback to assist the Board in developing a profile and selection criterion that match the priorities of the community and that meet the needs of the students in the district.
After compiling the feedback, the consultants presented the findings in a Leadership Profile to the board in November. The next step was posting the Leadership Profile and soliciting applications for the position. Applications were submitted through mid-January.After careful review, the list was narrowed down to six to be interviewed. Moving on in the process are Andreyko, Anderson, Cunningham, Michael, Pomeroy, and Schrig. The interviews were conducted Jan. 25.
“Following these discussions, we anticipate narrowing the field for a second round of interviews scheduled for Feb. 1,” said Kelly Rucker Frindt, president of the Rocky River City Schools Board of Education, in an email. “We are very pleased with the quality of the candidate pool and we are dedicated to choosing a superintendent who upholds and advances the high standards of our district.”
Frindt also noted that, “The Rocky River City School Board is committed to a transparent superintendent search process aimed at selecting an outstanding individual who will lead our district forward, benefiting our students, their families, and the greater community.”, longtime district Superintendent Michael Shoaf officially retired from his post Jan. 9, nearly a full year earlier than originally planned.
