The Rockets enter the matchup with a 50-32 regular season record, a mark which earned them the 2-seed in a hyper-competitive Western Conference. Slightly lower down the board, the Warriors boast a 48-34 record. Despite finishing just four games behind Houston, the Warriors had to win a Play-In game against the Memphis Grizzlies to clinch the 7-seed—further emphasizing the gritty nature of this year’s West. On offense, the Rockets are led by fourth year-man Jalen Green, who is averaging 21.0 points per game. Just behind him in scoring is his draftmate Alperen Sengun, who’s putting up 19.1 points per contest. For Golden State, the offense starts and ends with Stephen Curry, whose 24.5 points per game this season has more-or-less become his standard. Curry is entering the postseason with a new running mate, as the Warriors acquired star Jimmy Butler in a midseason trade with the Miami Heat. The Rockets have played the Warriors five times so far this season, going 2-3 on those occasions. In their most recent matchup, a strong fourth quarter that included 10 straight points from Jalen Green helped Houston pull away in a 106-96 win on the road.Breaking News AlertsMichael is a Kingwood native who loves visiting local restaurants and overreacting to Houston sports.
