Rochester Prep and the Rochester Architecture Foundation announced a new course aimed at inspiring the next generation of architects, planners, and designers. March 13, 2025 Rochester , N.Y. — Rochester Prep and the Rochester Architecture Foundation have announced a new Introduction to Architecture course aimed at inspiring the next generation of architects, planners, and designers.
The course is particularly focused on reaching students who may not have previously considered architecture as a viable career option. James Durfee, principal at JDurfee Architect, emphasized the impact of the course, saying, "There's really no substitute for when you see a student realize the potential that might be associated with the field of design, particularly architecture." Camden Cunningham, a student, added, "It opens up a lot. Coming into high school, I really didn't expect anything but now it's like I have more opportunities to see stuff I like, stuff I want to do and where I want to be."
