Rochester, N.Y. — The Rochester Salvation Army and MVP Health Care teamed up Saturday for the "Coats For Kids Shop," an event that provides local children in need with winter coats.Kids were able to peruse the clothing racks to pick out their favorite coat.
"We've seen smiles on kids' faces,” said Major Rick Starkey, codirector, Rochester Salvation Army. “They get to come in and pick out the coat that they like, and obviously keeping kids warm. Nobody wants to see a kid at school or out at recess and they don't have a proper winter coat, especially in this area. So, we're glad to be able to help these families."
