Rochester Mayor Malik Evans is calling on the city's housing quality task force to increase homeownership opportunities and better support existing homeowners. Evans is asking the task force to do this by creating partnerships, enhancing city programs and aligning efforts with state, county and partner organizations.
Over the next 60 business days, the task force will identify strategies to increase homeownership, find more ways to support current homeowners and invite new partners."Owning a home is one of the most fundamental ways that families build wealth and provide stability for future generations," Evans said. "So, we look forward to this group delivering recommendations over the next 60 days.
"We have a great foundation of programs and projects to start building more toward home ownership and increasing that percentage," said Carol Wheeler, manager of housing for the City of Rochester.
