Kraft checks these boxes.Polian’s four-point criteria, which he revealed to Hall selectors over the summer and reiterated to me in recent days, is the best and most concise I’ve seen:Put the franchise in a positive position as a corporate citizen of its marketplace.
Polian places Kraft with George Halas, Art Rooney Sr., Tim Mara, Dan Rooney and Wellington Mara – giants of the game.‘The worst offense I’ve seen’were transitioning away from a Hall of Fame quarterback while trying to maintain success under a legendary Super Bowl-winning head coach . “We can’t get anybody better than Chuck,” Dan Rooney said at the time. “He’s perfect for Pittsburgh.”In 2013 and 2014, when Dan Rooney was near Kraft’s current age, the Steelers went 8-8 twice. They kept coach Mike Tomlin, then went 45-19 over the next four seasons. That team had quarterback Ben Roethlisberger all the while, however.The idea that Kraft might act forcefully with Belichick does not go far with Polian.
