PATS RALLY FALLS SHORT: Despite a late rally, the New England Patriots lose 22-18 at home to the Bengals in a big blow to their playoff hopes.

The New England Patriots came alive in the second half but couldn't pull off the win against the Cincinnati Bengals, losing 22-18 and dropping back below .500.

Shut out in the first half, the Patriots rallied on the back of defensive back Marcus Jones, who caught an interception and returned it for a touchdown. The improbable catch recalled NFL legend Franco Harris' famed"Immaculate Reception" for the Pittsburgh Steelers, which was made 50 years and a day earlier. Harris died on Tuesday.
