Road-rage incident between two vehicles in Antioch ends with occupant of third getting shot

ANTIOCH — Police were looking for tips as they searched for a person who fired a gun during a road-rage dispute and injured a person in another car nearby.

In a statement, Antioch police spokesperson Officer Ashley Crandell said the person who was shot was expected to recover. That person was not the target of the road rage, she said. The shooting happened about 7:50 p.m. Tuesday on Lone Tree Way, where the road crosses state Highway 4 on the border of Brentwood. Officers found a victim with a gunshot wound, and an ambulance took that person to a hospital.

Police said they were looking for the occupants in the vehicles involved in the road rage. They asked anyone who may have been in the area where it happened to contact them at 925-779-6926. Witnesses who wish to remain anonymous can send tips to 274637 using the key word ANTIOCH.
