Southern New Englanders with family in Haiti are keeping a close eye on the developing situation.

Dr. Norly Germain, the Executive Director of Hope and Change for Haiti, said the children have no food or access to education, yet many of them are walking around with high-powered military weapons.
He has family living throughout Haiti including the capital Port du Prince, where violent gangs have seized control.
