An investigation into an overnight residential structure fire in Ogden was prompted after authorities determined it to have been human-caused.
Officials of the Ogden City Fire Department said they were dispatched to a structure fire at the 100 block of Historic 25th Street at 3:15 a.m. on Friday, May 24.Crews arrived on the scene to find fire and smoke coming from the basement door of the three-story mixed-use building.The sprinkler system was also activated and kept the fire from spreading rapidly before firefighters arrived and took immediate action, extinguishing the flames quickly.
"The Fire Marshal's office has determined the fire to be human-caused and is investigating any leads or video footage," authorities stated.
