SAN ANTONIO - Basketball hoops sit abandoned in the street. On a beautiful afternoon, the porch swings are empty.
She says it's been a problem for decades, but in recent months, more people are abandoning dogs on her street and owners aren't keeping their gates secured.But despite several open reports to Animal Care Services, Garza says she and her neighbors aren't seeing much action."It's been over four months that we have been calling and nothing has been done," Garza said.
She followed the dogs over to a home on the next block to try and figure out where they lived. Garza says she's glad she went in her car because they started jumping on it and scratching it.Fed up and still fearful, Garza finally called the police. An officer came out to evaluate the situation and try to find the dog's owner.
