One man is seriously injured and several others are displaced after a fire ripped through a home in New Jersey on Saturday night. The fire broke out around 11:45 p.m. at a home on 8th Street in Fairview.
Video shows firefighters on scene as heavy flames and thick smoke billowed into the sky. Fire officials say three residents lived on the left side and four people lived on the right side of the double home. Four minors who lived in the home all managed to get out safely.Neighbors tell Eyewitness News they were concerned about the flames possibly spreading to their homes. According to Fairview Battalion Fire Chief Vincent Bellucci, conditions inside the home with an interior attack became unsafe, forcing firefighters to back out because a possible collapse. "Lots of heavy fire in the rear of the house, all the residents were out of the house at the time and then we started to attack the fire," Bellucci said. "There's four minors in the home, they all got out safe, unharmed." Firefighters managed to put the fire under control using master streams, or high-volume water nozzles.
