Between the 1930s and 1960s, there were several travel guides that circulated within Black communities across the United States.
One of the most popular and widely known travel guides was the Green Book .
“The Palace Hotel is the first site that was listed for Utah in any of the African American travel guides. It was listed in the early 1930s in the Travelers Guide,” said Cooper-Rompato. All the information collected will be used to help assemble a special travel guide exhibit highlighting Utah’s Black history.
