Two fires in Utah Thursday affected multiple communities in Utah and Salt Lake Counties.
People in Eagle Mountain got a scare as a fire came just yards away from their homes Thursday afternoon, causing officials to call for evacuations.PREVIOUS COVERAGE on WILDFIRES:“I said, ‘what . . . is going on?’” Zack Carpenter said.
“I would say the fire got as close as 20 yards to some of these homes,” said Ben Porter with the Unified Fire Authority.The residents of Eagle Mountain weren’t the only ones affected by a fire today. “That is something we do when fire gets close to our facilities. And this case, we did get damage to one pole that needed to be replaced,” said David Eskelsen with Rocky Mountain Power.
