President Donald Trump has signaled a potential deal to save TikTok over the weekend, as Republican attorneys general are skeptical of the app's safety but await Trump's action.
President Donald Trump signaled Saturday a deal could be underway soon to 'save' TikTok from a looming ban, and Republican state attorneys general – many skeptical of the app's security – are waiting to see if it comes to fruition. 'I have spoken to many people about TikTok and there is great interest in TikTok,' Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on a flight to Florida, Reuters reported.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton also initiated legal action against TikTok earlier this month, alleging 'TikTok lied about its safety standards and concealed the truth about the prevalence of inappropriate and explicit material,' according to his office's news release. Paxton's lawsuit doesn't mention the app's ban.
