CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Hamilton Parking Garage on East 12th Street is still under repairs after the city of Cleveland issued five violation notices.
After our story aired, the city had an inspector look at the garage. He noted the repairs were needed on every floor.“There are cut out sections in the concrete decking and need repaired, proper safety fencing needs to be installed around all cut outs. On every floor there is concrete and metal decking on the under side that needs repair or replaced.”The inspector also ordered the owners to supply a structural engineers report stating “the parking garage is structurally safe.
“We observe that the exterior finishes are in generally good condition with only minor maintenance being needed at this time.” According to the City, the owners of the garage say they have another structural engineer’s report, which they have indicated also includes an interior inspection.The City of Cleveland also says, “They have made some progress on remedying the issues and complying with the violations, but there is more work to be done. The City has been in consistent contact with ownership and will continue to follow up to ensure this is resolved.
