“Whether it’s Harris, who I wholeheartedly support, or someone else, the Democrats have to get in line,” she said. “It’s time for Democrats to be damn Democrats.”delegate for next month’s Democratic National Convention, said she had heard a decision on Biden might be coming Sunday afternoon.“Many elected officials wouldn’t have done what the president did,” she said. “It just shows what kind of character he has.
Givan said Democrats need to do work to attract Black women voters, young voters, and draw 15 to 20% of Black males. “If you were watching the Republican National Convention last week, Donald Trump did something on Monday that had never been done there before,” she said. “He had not one, not two, not three, but four black men headline the speakers that night. He understands that 15 to 20% of Black males did not vote for Stacey Abrams, which is one of the reasons she lost. Kamala, if she is the nominee, needs to build the base off all of those.”“It can’t be none of this, ‘If they go low, we go high,’” she said.
