“What the American people should clearly understand is that it doesn’t matter who the Democrats choose because whoever they choose will continue to push policies that will keep the cost of living too high, leave our border open, and make our communities less safe,” Palmer said. “They may change the person on the Democratic ticket, but the policies will not change.”

High profile Democrats in Alabama have expressed support for Vice President Kamala Harris as the nominee now that Biden has announced he will not seek reelection.“I plan to do everything in my power, from now until November, to make Kamala Harris the next President of the United States,” Sewell said.

“My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made,” Biden said in a statement. “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.
