Rent prices continue surge across N.J. See county-by-county numbers.

Housing rental prices have increased at least 8% in these 10 New Jersey counties in the past year, according to Zillow data.

Housing rental prices have continued to surge higher across New Jersey with prices in six counties now topping $2,500 a month, according to Zillow data.

The highest observed rent prices were in Hudson County at more than $2,800 in February, up nearly 10% from a year earlier, according to the latest Zillow data. Sussex County had the biggest year-over-year jump at 11.65%. Among the 17 counties with available data for both February 2022 and 2023, just Atlantic County showed a slight decline in Zillow’s observed rent prices. The rest all increased at least 4%.
