CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio -- Temple Emanu El is holding a day of voter registration and voter involvement Sunday, Sept. 22 in Cleveland and in Orange Village. Beginning at 11 a.m. in partnership with Antioch Baptist Church in Cleveland, the temple will participate in the church’s worship service. At 12:30 p.m. they will host a program to register voters and create a voting plan, which includes arranging for a ride to the polls. Participants there will be entered in a raffle for tickets to a Cavs game.
Later that evening beginning at 7 p.m. the temple will host an Ohio candidates’ night with a panel discussion of candidates for Ohio Supreme Court, Ohio House District 19 and Ohio Senate District 18 in its sanctuary, 4545 Brainard Rd. in Orange Village. There will be a brief question and answer period at the end of the discussion moderated by temple member Ken Myers.
The events are free and open to the public with no reservation is required. Antioch Baptist Church is located at 8869 Cedar Ave. in Cleveland. Contact the church atTickets are on sale for a concert 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26 featuring acclaimed jazz trumpeter Dominick Farinacci and his band, Faith Whiskey and Voices of Injustice with a guest appearance by Mark Godsey, co-founder and director of the Ohio Innocence Project.
