Umno Liaison Committee chairman Ab Rauf Yusoh and Malacca chief minister Sulaiman Md Ali say that the rumours circulating that the chief minister’s post will change hands is baseless. – Abd Rauf Yusoh Facebook pic, January 7, 2023.

Based on a video clip that was uploaded on Masjid Tanah’s Barisan Nasional Facebook page last night, Ab Rauf had said the issue was nothing more than a slanderous attempt by an individual with vested interest. He added that from the beginning, both had agreed that whatever happens, there will be no secrets between them and that the current rumours are nothing more than slander that is an embarrassment to the state that has been able to win two-thirds of the peoples’ trust.

Sulaiman stressed that the main focus now was to continue the agenda of developing Malacca and not entertain rumours that are baseless.
