KLANG: Pejuang cannot forge ahead on its own and needs to partner with a suitable coalition, says its Selangor chief.

Harumaini Omar said the matter will be discussed by the party’s top leadership and it will be up to party president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir to make the decision.“But it is clear that Pejuang cannot go solo and that is why we have suggested the need to establish a political collaboration with either Pakatan Harapan or Perikatan Nasional," he told The Star on Thursday .

He said the proposal will be tabled by Selangor Pejuang at the party's annual general meeting later this month.Noting that Selangor Pejuang was determined to initiate a collaboration with either coalition, he said however that he was not sure how the request would be received.

In Selangor, Harumaini lost his deposit in the contest for Hulu Selangor while a similar fate befell supreme council member Mohd Shaid Rosli in Kuala Selangor. When contacted, Mohd Shaid echoed Harumaini’s sentiment and said it was clear that the people had rejected them.“But we have been rejected and we must respect the people’s decision," he said.Article type: free
