'Raket 'yan': Duterte warns against businesses, scammers using his name

MANILA- President Rodrigo Duterte warned Filipinos on Friday against businesses that use his name to make a profit.

Duterte told Filipinos not to believe any person they do not know who claims to be a member of the first family.

"Huwag kayo magpaloko lalo na 'yung mag gamit ng pangalan ko kasi 'yung mag gamit ng pangalan ko, sigurado palpak 'yan, raket 'yan, krimen 'yan," he said in a public address aired from his hometown Davao City.Duterte urged Filipinos to be more careful in their transactions since there are many scammers nowadays--citing dishonest online sellers.

"Panahon sa lokohan, di naman talaga natatanggal 'yan. There's always a sucker born every minute," he said. The Department of Trade and Industry has previously said it has sought the help of the National Bureau of Investigation, and the Philippine National Police to go after illegal trading activities online.
