MANILA – The Department of Education on Wednesday said it would take legal action against those illegally selling its free learning materials online.
In a statement, Education Undersecretary Alain Pascua said the agency has received reports of online sellers offering its free modules and learning materials.
“These people are using free learning materials from DepEd and are shamelessly selling it online,” Pascua said. Learning materials can be accessed for free through the agency’s online learning platform, the DepEd Commons, which has so far logged 7 million subscribers. The education official also warned the public, especially teachers, against groups and individuals charging fees for supposedly free webinars conducted by the DepEd.
