THE state-run weather agency disclosed on Friday that it would be a rainy weekend over Visayas and Luzon, including Metro Manila due to the inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ).
In the meantime, most parts of the country could expect general fair weather although isolated downpours and thunderstorms would be likely in the afternoon or at night time, weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.He said the cloud formations spotted over east of Visayas and Mindanao could still develop into a low pressure area in the coming days.
The state weather bureau has said at least one tropical cyclone would likely enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility in September.Over the next 24 hours, Pagasa said the ITCZ – an imaginary line where the air from the southern and northern hemisphere meet – is affecting Mimaropa , Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao where scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail.
