THREE Metro Manila cities suspended classes on Friday due to the volcanic smog or vog coming from Taal Volcano.
In an announcement via Facebook, San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora announced the suspension.'Classes in all levels, in both public and private schools today, Sept. 22, 2023 in the City of San Juan are hereby suspended due to volcanic smog coming from Taal Volcano,' Zamora said.Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto also suspended classes.
'Suspendido ang klase ngayong araw ng Biyernes, Setyembre 22, 2023, sa lahat ng antas, pampubliko o pribado sa Lungsod ng Pasay dahil sa banta sa kalusugan ng usok na ibinubuga ng Bulkang Taal,' Calixto said.'Pinapayuhan ang publiko na manatili sa loob ng tahanan at dagdagan ang ibayong pag-iingat. Magsuot din ng protective gear o facemask upang hindi malanghap ang volcanic smog,' she added.
