) - Only isolated showers will linger Friday night into Saturday before drier air settles in for the rest of the seven-day forecast. Temperatures will remain warm in the near term but may drop next week as a front is likely to push through our area.Expect a very rainy start to our Friday across much of our local area. Rain showers will move in from the Gulf of Mexico, with some thunderstorms also possible. Grab your umbrella as you head out the door, as rain will likely be falling.

For Friday evening football, conditions will be wet but improving. Lingering showers will still be possible, so keep an eye on the FOX10 weather app for live radar and updates. Temperatures will fall from the upper 70s to the mid and lower 70s. Skies will remain mostly cloudy.Drier and warmer conditions are in store for the weekend. Clouds will stick around for part of Saturday, but clearer skies move in on Sunday.
Our main focus is on an area of disturbed weather that we’ve been tracking for a while in the Gulf of Mexico. This system has struggled to develop recently, and it’s unlikely we’ll see development in the near term. However, long-range forecast models show that energy crossing over from the eastern Pacific across Mexico into the Gulf of Mexico might serve as a focal point for the development of a tropical system.
