A social media post showing a racist homecoming proposal is causing controversy in Stark County.
UNIONTOWN , Ohio - In the Snapchat image posted to social media, two boys are standing in front a parked car with the trunk open.
They are holding a sign that reads: “If we were Black we’d be picking cotton. But unfortunately we’re White so we’re picking you for HOCO?” 19 News is not including the image in this story because we don’t have permission from the copyright owner, and it features minor students.In response, the district said they enacted disciplinary and counseling measures.Early this morning, the Green Local Schools administration was notified of a social media post with a discriminatory image. This behavior contradicts the values we uphold at Green Local Schools. We strongly condemn the actions and take these matters very seriously.
