Summary Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick hopes fans will overlook Borderlands' poor critical reception. The movie was produced partly by Gearbox, the video game company that owns the franchise. At the time of writing, the movie has a 10% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes with an audience score of 50%. That is a disappointing result, but Zelnick does not believe it will impact the property or Take-Two at all. In an interview with IGN, Zelnick explained that the game company will continue to explore video game movies regardless of Borderlands' reception, though he still hopes that viewers will see the movie.
Let's give the film a chance . A lot of people worked really hard on it. The underlying intellectual property is phenomenal, the cast is amazing, I think the look and feel is really terrific .
