Data analyst Geoffrey Smith has been named Queensland's 2025 Australian of the Year as an employer of neurodivergent and long-term unemployed people.
Smith co-founded Australian Spatial Analytics , which provides geo-spatial and engineering services.
ASA practises inclusion with workplace supports for executive functioning, social interactions and sensory sensitivities. The Queensland 2025 Senior Australian of the Year has been awarded to Dr Bronwyn Herbert, who was awarded her PhD on homelessness at the age of 90 after a 60-year career in social work.
The Queensland 2025 Local Hero is Claire Smith, the founder of Wildlife Rescue Sunshine Coast, the first dedicated, volunteer-run, 24-hour wildlife rescue service in Queensland.
