In travel news, united is expected to face more competition flySFO for flights to Sydney and Rome next year. That could be good news for Bay Area travelers
Bay Area travelers will have more nonstop service to two popular global destinations next year from San Francisco International Airport when ITA Airways debuts its first route from SFO and Qantas Airways returns to the airport.
"San Francisco to Rome is actually the largest market without nonstop service when we look at San Francisco to Europe," said Patrick Quayle, senior vice president of global network planning and alliances for United. The SFO-to-Rome route is part of United’s broader expansion of service across the Atlantic for its summer 2023 schedule.
