have enjoyed the sunshine across the region the last few days, as it provided stunning weather to get outside and soak up the spring warmth. Highs across Southcentral have been warming well into the 50s, with the warmest day in Anchorage this season topping out at 58. There have been no 60-degree days, however, which typically arrive on May 12. It likely will be on hold for the next week or so, as the extended seven-day forecast keeps highs in the mid-50s. The middle of next week could provide a decent run near 60. Until then, expect clouds and rain showers to remain in the forecast over the next few days.

Coastal areas will see the best chance for rain, with a tenth to a half inch of rain likely by the start of the weekend. Inland areas will see passing showers but expect things to remain on the drier side. Overcast skies will be likely for coastal regions, keeping temperatures in the upper 40s both today and Friday. By the weekend, some sunshine looks to return to Southcentral. For the time being, expect some passing showers with daily highs warming into the 50s.
