Voting ends April 13 for one of three designs presented by local artists in MainStreet Oceanside project

Online voters will choose one of three designs proposed for a mural that will cover the north-facing facade of the parking structure at the downtown Oceanside Transit Center. The tri-level building in the 300 block of Seagaze Drive offers a huge canvas for the winning artist to display their work in a busy area near the municipal pier, popular restaurants and other beach area attractions. 'This is a unique wall,' said MainStreet Oceanside CEO Gumaro Escarcega.

And a submission by Nicholas 'Danger' McPherson of Idyllwild, whose proposal features a pink octopus reaching around the staircase, over purple sharks and black seaweed. Voting for the city's newest mural opened Wednesday and will conclude Saturday, April 13, when the public is invited to meet the artists from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Pierside South rooftop terrace on North Cleveland Street. MainStreet will announce the winner May 3.
