The meeting will be help in Bathgate on Thursday
A public meeting to discuss what has been described as "a radical rethink" on public transport will take place in Bathgate this Thursday.
The two-part strategy involved a tendering exercise for subsidised bus routes followed by a review of the policy, which was to be considered by December. However recent dramatic changes in the bus services with the withdrawal of all services by McGill's may delay it. The council is responsible for only 20% of the bus network through subsidy. The council currently has 18 bus contracts in place. That can be for a whole route, part of a route or specific journeys, for instance at early or late times.
