Victorians fleeing domestic violence are waiting more than 20 months for a place to live, with average wait times continuing to blow out for survivors, who are supposed to be given priority access to long-term public housing.

When a public housing property becomes available, the department sets a 28-day target from the date someone vacates, to clear and repair the property before a new occupant moves in.
