Jetstar has again taken the crown as the nation's least punctual airline with the worst cancellation rate but the budget carrier says it is making 'significant improvements'.
Jetstar has again recorded the worst on-time performance of Australian airlines but has trumpeted the fact it has made"significant improvements" in its operations.
The Qantas-owned budget carrier also had a cancellation rate of 4.2 per cent. The industry average was three per cent. "The arrival of Jetstar's eighth NEO comes as the airline continues to see significant improvements in its operational performance," a Jetstar statement said. Jetstar has attributed the improvement in on-time running in part to new check-in and boarding times that came into effect in late May.
"Everyone across Jetstar is committed to getting the airline to its best and ensuring customers have a great travel experience with us over the holidays." Skytrans flights arrived as scheduled 76.4 per cent of the time, while the on-time departure rate was 75.6 per cent. The cancellation rate was 3.4 per cent.
