The provincial government of Cotabato is set to start the implementation of the Central Mindanao Airport development project worth P24,189,614.84 next week.
During the conference, the airport security and operation protocol, including the required entry permit from the provincial government, airport access for manpower and equipment, placing the contractor’s bunkhouse and warehouse, as well as the “do’s and don’ts,” before executing and during the execution of the project were also tackled.
She said the development of the CMA is expected to provide many great opportunities to Cotabateños in the fields of agriculture, tourism, business, and others. The CMA is included in the Mindanao Development Authority’s priority infrastructure projects portfolio and is seen to “catalyze inclusive and balanced rural development in Mindanao… compliment General Santos and Awang Airports and will boost the economic activities of the area where many agricultural products, including highly-perishable fruits, come from,” according to MinDA.
