CAMP Aquino, Tarlac City – The Balik-Loob Organization of Mountain Province (BLOMP) has condemned the human rights violation committed by the New People’s Army against amazon Brenda Antonio.

Antonio, alias “Michelle,” a member of the Agta Indigenous People’s tribe, was abandoned by her comrades after she was killed by a falling tree during a recent typhoon. She had been an NPA member for two years.

Ka Sibat, a member of BLOMP, described the harsh realities faced by individuals like him and Michelle who have experienced the dark tactics employed by the NPA. “The Balik-Loob Organization of Mountain Province stands united in the demand for justice for Michelle and all those who have suffered similarly at the hands of the CTG,” he said.

"We call out to all concerned agencies, within and outside our region, to acknowledge the gravity of this situation and unite in condemning such blatant violations of human rights.” The 17th Infantry Battalion under the Armed Forces-Northern Luzon Command and other law enforcement agencies unearthed the remains of Antonio in Cagayan after receiving information from her former comrades.BLOMP is composed of former rebels who have chosen to return to the path of peace and uphold the rule of law.
