She kicked off the week with a picnic at the Chelsea Flower Show in London
Carl CourtThe royal was photographed chatting with students and organizers at the London event’s first children’s picnic this morning, where guests included pupils from 10 schools from the Royal Horticultural Society’s Campaign for School Gardening.
The flower show, also known as the Great Spring Show, is held for five days in May by the Royal Horticultural Society on the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.After enjoying the picnic with the schoolchildren, Princess Kate joined them on a visit to three of this year’s show gardens to “take part in activities including a bug hunt, planning a home-grown meal, and discovering how gardens can support wellbeing,” per Kensington Palace.
Since its formation in 1804, the RHS has grown into the United Kingdom’s leading gardening charity, aiming to bring kids closer to nature and teach them valuable life skills.
