Justin Theroux as Mr. House in 'Fallout' Season 2
For years, Hollywood struggled to crack the code on what makes a truly great video game adaptation, but lately, the story has begun to change. The tide started turning with Netflix’s take on Uncharted, and it didn’t take long for bigger hits to follow.
TV found its own groove with successes like Netflix's Arcane, Paramount+'s Halo, and HBO's The Last of Us. Prime Video, for its part, may have landed the biggest win yet with Fallout, which recently crossed the 100 million-view mark to become one of the platform’s most-watched shows. Now, the series is giving fans an early treat with a new release arriving sooner than expected. Unlike most video game adaptations that adapt specific game titles, Fallout takes a different route. The Prime Video sci-fi series exists within the same universe as the games but expands the story while still respecting the canon fans already love. It’s a smart approach that means you don’t need any prior knowledge to jump in, and it’s a big part of why the show has clicked with such a wide audience. Season 1 brought its retro-futuristic, post-apocalyptic world to life in a surprisingly fun way, kicking things off in Los Angeles. Season 2 picks up right where things left off, following Lucy , Maximus , and The Ghoul as their journey takes them through the Mojave Wasteland and into a devastated Las Vegas. Season 2 recently ended its 8-episode run and barely let up on the charts, holding strong in both the U.S. and globally. Now, Prime Video has finally shared just how big the show has become, revealing it’s crossed over 100 million views, making it one of the four biggest seasons the platform has ever launched. Riding that momentum, Amazon MGM Studios is giving fans something extra – the chance to own Season 2 on physical media much sooner this time around. Fallout: Season Two is set to arrive on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray on May 19, with both editions packed with special features listed below: Related Can You Hold Your Own on the B-Ball Court?
