Liverpool kept the pressure on Premier League leaders Manchester City with a 2-0 victory over cross-town rivals Everton on Sunday evening. SLInt MORE:
Jurgen Klopp went for a front-three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota, while Michael Keane replaced Ben Godfrey who picked up a knock in the warm up.
The visitors had the first real opening in the 36th minute when Doucoure was slipped through on goal down the right, but the Frenchman dragged his effort wide of the mark. The tempo carried over to the second half as Anthony Gordon had a big chance to break the deadlock for the visitors on 55 minutes but he fired wide of the mark after breaking free down the left side of the box.
The hosts got the breakthrough two minutes later as Mohamed Salah floated a cross to the far post where Andrew Robertson was on hand to head home his second league goal of the season.
