The road-legal Pilot Sport S 5, designed for the 911 GT3 RS (type 992), promises more predictable and controlled driving in challenging conditions such as rain and low temperatures. 'We are responding to the demands of our performance-oriented customers who yearn to spend more time on the track during the spring and autumn months,' stated Andreas Preuninger, Director GT Vehicles at Porsche. 'The new tires significantly increase the annual usability period of the GT3 RS.' The Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tire was developed at the Michelin Centre in Ladoux, France, and fine-tuned by renowned driver and ambassador Jörg Bergmeister. Its key features include: Michelin track tests have shown that the 911 GT3 RS equipped with the Pilot Sport S 5 achieves faster lap times in wet conditions compared to the Pilot Sport Cup 2 N0. The tire's design prioritizes performance in wet conditions while maintaining a high level of performance on dry pavement. Tested on challenging circuits like the Nürburgring in Germany and Portimão in Portugal at temperatures above 15°C, the Pilot Sport S 5 delivers enhanced stability and handling with high resistance to wear.
