Popular West Coast veteran Tom Barrass has confirmed his desire to be traded to Hawthorn. The star defender told the AFL club of his wishes in his exit meeting this week, after it had previously been reported that he had met with Hawks coach Sam Mitchell. West Coast have since said they will “protect their best interests” while doing a deal for the under-contract player. “Tom has today informed us of his desire to pursue an opportunity at another club,” Eagles football manager Gavin Bell said.
“I’m a WCE player & unless the rug gets pulled out from under my feet I’ll stay that way. “I am really excited about what we are doing here and I am really excited about some of the talent. “I think we have got some progress we still need to make… before we can be considered a good team. “But I believe that we can do it and I believe that if we work as a team it is a closer than people probably perceive.
